How Can Recurring Cough In A Child Be Treated?
This is a recurring issue which happened 1month back.
Any medic or any remidial treatment can we do? Please suggest.
Steam inhalation is the mainstay of treatment.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms including croup are due to viral infections. Irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Such infections are usually associated with an allergic component and giving Montair LC Kid (monteleukast + cetirizine, prescription medicine) should help. Loratidine is also a very good alternative that can be continued instead.
If your child is otherwise active and playful, I would not be concerned. If not, it would be a good idea to visit a doctor and to get the child evaluated. If the respiratory rate is greater than or equal to 50 breaths/min you would need to take her to a doctor for the possibility of underlying pneumonia. If the rate is lesser, you need not worry.
You need to give steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion and thereby the cough. The water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief.
Please be patient. It may take a few more days before recovery occurs.
Let me know if I could help further.

Also want to add one more thing, she is doing poty 3-5times a day during this time which is more than her usual 1 or 2 times a day. Also she is not eating anything. Her teeth has not yet come, is this some kind of overall effect.
Not concerning.

Thanks for writing back. Let me assure you that passing stool 3-5 times a day is normal for this age and nothing to be concerned about. All you need to do is to ensure a good fluid intake.
Regarding her teeth, sometime there can be a delay in eruption and that is not necessarily concerning. If you can see the teeth being formed under the gums, there is nothing concerning. But if there seems to be some confusion, it would be a good idea to visit a doctor and to get her evaluated.
