Brief Answer:
Could be cardiac problem or costo chondritis .

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Sharp pain on left side of chest could be due to cardiac problem or costo chondritis.
In my opinion it is essential to exclude any cardiac cause before starting treatment.
You should get an ECG and if required , Echocardiography.
If these are normal then I would suggest pain killers and muscle relaxants. If there is no improvement in 2-3 weeks then I would give local steroid injection.
Hope for all the best. Please let me know the follow up .
