Brief Answer:

Yes, the discomfort mostly disappears after3-4 months.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

In incisional hernia repair with mesh, significant discomfort remains till 15- 20 days of operation. This is due to irritation caused by the newly implanted mesh, leading to some inflammatory response.

After this moderate discomfort remains up to 3-4 months of surgery. While the body gets adjusted to the mesh & it disappears after the time.

If it remains beyond that, & turns into chronic pain, you need to consult your surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
