Question: I had a hiated hernia 25 years ago. I now have similar stabbing pains under my right breast after eating a greasy sandwich. What are the symptoms of a hiated hernia?

Hiatal Hernia:
There may not be any symptoms and the finding of having hiatal hernia can be a co-incidental finding.
Some people can have the following symptoms:
Pain in upper abdomen and/or lower chest/ center of chest called heartburn or in the center of back.
Burning sensation in the said area.
Instigated or enhanced by some factors, foods, beverages that are different for each person.
There can be belching, hiccup, nausea, regurgitation, or vomiting.
Pain in throat.
