Brief Answer:

Precautions you can take

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

So if I understand this right, it is only your daughter who is coming to visit young not her son? If she is not sick, and if you ask her to wash her hands thoroughly or alcohol gel her hands thoroughly, she will not bring it to you.

When coming from an airport, she is more at risk of bringing things viruses and other infection causing germs to you from things she touched there.

So I do recommend that when she arrives at your house, that she washes her hands thoroughly as soon as she gets to your house.

If your daughter does start to show symptoms of strep, then she should be quick to get tested and on an appropriate antibiotic.

Once on the antibiotic for 24 hours, she would no longer be contagious. But at this point, she does not have it and will not transmit it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The only other thing to consider is for your daughter to wear clothing that has been washed or was not in contact with her 7 yr old son while he had strep.

Once he has been on an antibiotic for 24 hrs, he will not risk spreading it to her.

Another thing that people don't always think of is to alcohol wipe her cell phone when she gets to your place.

I don't need to explain how many germs get on these because they are used both with clean hands as well as in public situations.

While most germs don't live long on inanimate objects, many can last hours, up to a few days.

Aside from that, it should be safe for her to hold the new baby. Enjoy the visit!

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
