Hello, welcome to ask a doctor services.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, welcome to ask a doctor services. I have read your question.

I am sorry to hear that your 13 yr old son is spending too much time playing games.

You are advised to engage him in outdoor games, picnics, encourage him to play sports that he enjoys. He can participate in community events.

You can get him enrolled is a good library from where he can read good books. You can recommend him what books to read.

To help develop critical thinking he can engage in board games. Puzzle solving games are also good as it can help develop problem solving skills.

To have fun and educational, help him indulge in some science experiments with you at his side.

Painting, drawing, or making crafts from recycled materials can also be very engaging. He can make DIY projects like making aeroplane models, pot-making, etc. Children find that very interesting.

Spend a little time telling him stories. Sometimes you can also play with him. Give quality time to your son.
games lead to poor nutrition & self-care along with poor posture, poor sleep, headache, eye strain, only in children who are not self-disciplined. You are advised to discipline your child.

Disciplined children follow a routine of maintaining good hygiene, good posture, they take nutritious diet & care for self & parents. These children do play games but with the purpose of improving motor skills (precise hand eye co-ordination), for stress relief (playing games that one enjoys helps to reduce stress & anxiety).
XXXXXXX games are designed to improve cognitive enhancement. Do not discourage your child from playing XXXXXXX games but limit the time, help him discipline himself. He should maintain good posture & eat healthy.

Excess of anything is bad, do not let him spend too much time over these games.

Hope I have answered your question. Take care.
