Brief Answer:
No, it's seen very rarely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Oral herpes usually cause blistering sores, enlarged lymph nodes or fever.
However, it rarely causes serious complications that usually occur in immunocompromised individuals.
These complications include spread of oral blisters to palate and pharynx which makes it difficult to swallow or spread of the infection to eyes or brain.

Thanks doctor. May I ask how common is it for the virus to spread to other area of the body?
For example if I have genital herpes type 1. Would it spread to The Eye causing The Eye to have herpes type 1 also. Like for example if I have an active sore in my genital and I accidentally touches it and come in contact with my eye. What are the possibility of it transferring the virus?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you had herpes type 1 since more than six months then it is very unlikely to encounter genital herpes in other areas of your body since your body should have developed antibodies against herpes infection. However, if your immune system is compromised due to any reason then it is possible to transmit the infection from a genital sore to your eyes. I would recommend that you wash your hand with soap and water after touching the genital sore for your peace of mind to avoid any possibility of re-infection at another site.
I hope you find this helpful.
