Question: How common is mild dysphagia (chronic) and scratchy throat and chronic cough with LPR? Also, how long does it take for the throat to go back to normal?

I for the last 4 months have a feeling that I have tightness in my throat, sometimes feel like my throat is closing on me. I some times fear that this could be spasticity in my throat. Last year was horrible as I burped for 6 months straight like 200 burps per day on average. I have had lot of testing done , ranging from endoscopy to mri , ph manometry and imepedence , and stomach emptying , all normal apart from mild acid.

I recently went to an ent where he did not find a lot apart from mild inflammation of my lingual tonsils.

I forced my doctor to refer me to a modified barrium swallow and barrium swallow which I am due for in a months time.

Does this all sound like LPR or some other stuff. Also, have mucus issue where in my saliva feels thick and wake with mild burning in my throat and the throat tightness.

I forced my doctor to refer me to a modified barium swallow and barium swallow which I am due for in a months time.

Will this good to rule out dysphagia? And point towards damage to tissue of throat and hence more sensitivity in my throat muscles?

How does spasticity in throat is diagnosed and what are the symptoms of the same?

"Sometimes it get resolved after few months and again reappear after gew months."
This is what happened to me, my symptoms went away in September and came back in XXXXXXX this year and since then have the throat issue.
Should I continue taking PPI's?

So what I am saying is that common with people with LPR , I am talking about the throat complains and the feeling of chronic tightness or something in my throat?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. You have already done MRI, endoscopy. But every test is normal. So barium swallow won't help you. The symptoms you are having are very common. So stop doing unnecessary tests. Maintain antireflix measures as mentioned previously. You can take medicine for another month but don't use it for long duration. Your findings are normal. So I don't feel you have any problem, therefore won't recommend any other tests.
