Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query

As per your question there is no difference between the blood drawn out of body and rest of blood in your system..though it coagulates within minutes after it is drawn... to prevent it is stored in refrigeration or anticoagulants are added to the samples.

Prothrombin is responsible for the consistency of blood through out the system.

It is a protein produced by the liver. It is one of several proteins, known as clotting factors, that help the blood stay at the right consistency.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale.
