How Do We Proceed Further With Betadine And Salt?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I have 2 daughters (twins) and they are 7.5 years old, recently they had cold and severe throat infection, they are both feeling better now, however during this time there was also some mild yellow vulval discharge. We used to give them warm sitz bath with Betadine or salt, and this has been under control. However when we stop for 2 days it comes back and it has been over 2 weeks now and its still not completely healed, so wanted to check how do we proceed further. They do not have any pain or discomfort while passing urine.

Brief Answer:
NO NEED TO WORRY
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
I have gone through your query and understand your concern
It is common for girls of this age to have some mucoid discharge- this can be taken as normal(physiological lekocoria).
There can be some change in the quantity and consistency of the discharge after a course of antibiotics because of the change in normal vaginal flora. It should settle its own in coming weeks.
If the discharge is not like pus(thick, yellow, fowl smelling) and there are no associated symptoms like pain/itching/blood staining, we need not worry. Just observe for 7-10 days to see for any such changes. Otherwise, nothing to worry
I hope this answer will help
Take care
