How Does A Genital Wart Look Like?
Question: I was recently diagnosed with genital warts on my perineum and had them treated with acid. That was 3 days ago. One is fairly close to my anus and I noticed that it was bleeding. I blotted all three of them and notice that they all seem to either have slight bleeding or leave at least a clear wet spot on the tissue. Is this normal? I understand that I may have scratched the one near my anus while wiping, but the other two aren't close enough to be scratched.
thanks
thanks

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist and venereologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern
Genital herpes usually presents with erosions in genital or perineal area. There might be pain or burning sensation.
It is normal for herpes erosions to bleed slightly or have a discharge. This is because they are breaks in the skin and are devoid of epidermis.
I suggest you to apply a topical antibacterial cream/ ointment e.g mupirocin cream, twice daily. Erosions of herpes genital usually heal within 5-7 days.
