Question: I have thick skin (dark in color)near my butt crack (side).. been there for some time now..very small at first seems to be getting bigger, not itchy or pain in anyway...what do i need to do to get rid of it. I have asked this question here before and i was advised to used Clotrimazole 1% but it did not help, then i was adviced to use clovate cream which helped but did not solve the problem. Please advice. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have read your query and I have also reviewed the image.

It is fungal infection along with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The cream that you used contains clobetasol propionate 0.05% which is topical steroid rather than an antifungal, even though it would provide temporary relief. Though initially you used an antufungal cream i.e clotrimazole however probably it was not enough.

I would suggest that you use an oral antifungal e.g terbinafine tablet 250mg once daily for 4weeks. In addition I would suggest you to use a different topical antifungal from that which you used earlier-- eberconazole e.g Ebernet cream, twice daily for 4weeks.

These are all prescription medications and I suggest that you visit a doctor in your vicinity for the needful.

Brief Answer:
Oral as well as topical antifungal

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

No. Not clotrimazole cream. I suggested you to use Ebernet cream (eberconazole), twice daily and terbinafine 250 mg tablets. These are prescription medications and I would advice you to procure a prescription for these from a specialist near you.
