How Effective Is Macrobid In Treating Acne Infections?

Question: Hi can macrobid help acne infections? I tried to reomve blackheads on my nose and now it is inflamed, swollen and has little pusculors. I only have access to macrobid.

I do not think that Macrobid (nitrofurantoin) would be helpful in treating acne. Acne occurs due to oily skin, when the openings of the oil secreting glands (sebaceus glands) get blocked resulting in collection of the sebum inside which gets subsequently infected. So, the best home based treatment would be to wash your face frequently with plain water. I would not suggest you to use Macrobid .
