How Effective Is Plan B Emergency Contraceptive In Preventing Pregnancy?
Question: Chances of pregnancy.
41 year old female, sex possibly during ovulation.
Not on birth control.
Issue was when putting on condom, initially condom was put on tip of penis backwards just for a couple seconds, realized it wouldn't unroll, was backwards then flipped it around and put on correctly. Did not realize at the time that possible pre-ejacultory fluid could have possibly came in contact with the outside of the condom when put on backwards at first. Plan B one step was taken 16 hours later. But I heard it may not be effective if ovulation had started. Anyways given the details/ age/etc is chance of pregnancy low?

Brief Answer:
Negligible chances
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic Forum. Thanks for writing into us with your health query. I can very well understand your concern relating to this matter.
There are negligible chances of pregnancy as only very small amount of. semen was in contact with the vagina, more over as you have taken Plan B it makes pregnancy more unlikely . Efficacy of Plan B is not affected by ovulation aa it causes endometrium to be out of phase and hence rejects the implantation of embryo to the endometrial lining. I hope I have relieved your anxiety , if you have more query then feel free to ask. Regards Dr Manisha Jain.
