default
Posted on Mon, 12 Sep 2016
Question: Hello Doctor,
I have got baldness in the centre of my scalp. Also there is thinning and hair loss in the front part of head.
I am losing my hair for the last 10+ years.
Recently I got mesotherapy done.In total 4 meso + vitamin, mineral suppliments.Along with Minoxdil and some local cream application once every day for 4 months.Everything as per the advice of doctor.suppliement provided by clinic only
But not much improvement.I have stopped this meso treatment as it was very costly. But continuing minoxidil treatment. My question:
1)     Is meso therapy required for future also?
2)     Is it really helpful?how long it will take to show result?
3)     What is the alternate treatment
4)     What type of shampoo required which are not hard?
5)     Is conditioner and oiling required?
6)     Do I need suppliments?I am planning to take Radiance H as supplement in future. Is it correct? For how long I have to take the same?
7)     How can I regrow my hair?
Pl advice

Brief Answer:
Treatment of male pattern baldness

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
Mesotherapy is currently in the experimental stages and its efficacy varies from person to person. In some individuals it has shown very good results but overall its efficacy in male pattern baldness is not very significant.
It is not required for you to go for Mesotherapy in future as results are not very satisfactory in your case and normally the results appear after 3 months in hair loss.
Alternatively you can consider going for platelet rich plasma therapy or Dermaroller sessions but these are again new therapies in the treatment of hair loss and their results vary from person to person.
As far as shampoo is concerned you can use either triclenz shampoo or xgain shampoo or revilus shampoo.
All are equally good.
You can use either of the above shampoo twice weekly.
Conditioners and oiling doesn't have a role in stopping hair fall or causing hair growth.
They will simply make the hair soft and supple.
You can use them if you wish to.
You can take hair supplements like radiance H but alone radiance H won't be beneficial and you need to take hair supplements for atleast 5-6 months.
Male pattern baldness doesn't have a permanent cure.
You should use either minoxidil 10 percent lotion or capixyl lotion for hair growth.
These need to be continued for atleast 4-5 months to show significant results and for atleast 1 year to show maximum results.
For better results you can even take tablet finasteride 1 mg once daily along with minoxidil or capixyl.

Dr Asmeet

so your recommendation is to take radiance H and Finasteride 1 mg both together of only finasteride 1 mg is sufficient without radiance H.

will this help in incresing hair folicals?
How long it will take to show results?
You have written "Male pattern baldness doesn't have a permanent cure" - Does it mean that treatment will not be much helpful?

Brief Answer:
will increase the hair follicles, results seen after 4-5 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Yes it will be effective in increasing the number of hair follicle.
Results will be visible 4-5 months after starting the medicines and will be much better if combination of minoxidil and finasteride is taken.
I had mentioned that their is no permanent cure for male pattern baldness.
It means that you will continue to have hair on your scalp as long as you will continue with the medicines.
Once you stop the medicines again after 6 months your hair fall will start.
So you need to continue these medicines as long as you want hair.
There are no treatments available that can permanently restore the hair.
That's why I mentioned that we don't have a permanent solution for this kind of hair loss.

Altris HD XXXXXXX or vegetal hair colour

Detailed Answer:
Loreal and all the regular brands available in the market contain ammonia and paraphenylenediamine which are responsible for allergic reactions.
