Brief Answer:
Dont worry ,you don't need to recheck in an year time.

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,

You are right, increased cholesterol is associated with significant risk of cardiac diseaes and stroke risk. It should be screened in all adults. However the screening is not this quickly , you never need to do it monthly. The recommendation is that all adults , over age of 20 should be screened, and if normal, the test should be rechecked in about 4 to 5 years time. In fact neither cholesterol rises quickly , nor it make big problems quickly , they take many years to rise and make problems.
The test can be done more frequently ( yearly ) in certain high risk people, like those who are very obese, or use excessive alcohol, has family history of high cholesterol, having diabetes, In such people it can be repeated every year. Also some would recommend checking it yearly in male over 35 years , or female over 45 years.
So if your were normal, you dont need to worry for being not able to do it another in the next month , enjoy your vacation, if you have any high risk as mentioned above you can repeat it in an year time, otherwise you may repeat it much latter like in 4 years time.
Just to mention, mirtazipine do not have any major effect on your cholesterol level, yes it can cause some weight gain some times, but i am happy you are going of it off.

Hopes i have answered your query , Please feel free to ask more you want to know , I would be glad to answer any further query about this.
Kind Regards
Dr Rahman
