Brief Answer:
HIV unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand from your query that you are concerned about getting HIV after a sexual encounter.

HIV transmission requires penetrative intercourse where the body fluids from the infected person has to come in contact with your mucosa like urethra/ abraded skin.

In your case, since both of you had undergarments on, it is very unlikely that you may get HIV.

If you are very anxious, you can get P24 antigen test and PCR test done. You can also get HIV 1 and 2 ELISA test after 12 weeks.

In case this episode is disturbing you too much and not allowing you to go on with your daily activities, please do not hesitate to see a counsellor or a psychologist. They will help you to bring your anxiety down and may even prescribe some anti anxiety medications.

Do not worry. Try to keep yourself occupied with your work/ hobbies.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Johny Chacko

Brief Answer:
No need of testing

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

In my opinion, the only need for testing is to get reassured that everything is normal and to get back to your normal life.

The accuracy ( which is called sensitivity and specificity in medical terms) of rapid test is high. If it is negative, you can be rest assured that it is definitely negative.

You could post a query on healthcare magic itself asking for a " psychologist". There are many good psychologists on this forum who will take up your question and provide you with reassurance and help. I sincerely feel that you should contact a psychologist as this is really disturbing your peace of mind. Ultimately, there is no use if you do all the tests and are still in doubt about the accuracy of the tests. That will always leave you anxious and tense. Instead, please take the help of a psychologist in this forum since you are based in UAE. Discuss your fears and anxieties openly and try to get some peace of mind to carry on with your daily life normally.

Hope this helps you.

Best regards,
Dr. Johny Chacko
