How Is Misoprostol Tablet Taken?
Question: Hi My wife has taken Mifeprin 1 tablet orally today morning at 7am and swallowed it with water. We were instructed to take Misoprostol 2 tabs after 24 hours and followed by another 2 tablets within 3 hours. Should they be taken orally or inserted vaginally. If they are to be kept under the tongue for how long? Please advice..

Should all 4 taken at once vaginally or as instructed 7am 1st 2 tablets and 10 am next 2 tablets? So far she didn't come across any form of bleeding. When does bleeding start?
And what is the recommended pregnancy period for the aforementioned medication to work?

Yes she can take all four tablets together but its better if she takes 2 at 7 and next after 3 hours because they are better absorbed that way.
They work best till 63 days (9 weeks) of pregnancy.
She can start bleeding anytime after 4-6 hours of misoprostol intake.

She has taken medication yesterday (17th Nov) as per the instructions received and within 1 hour (around 9am) she started to bleed. But today morning the bleeding has stopped. And there wasn't excessive bleeding, yet quite equalant to menstrual cycle. Additionally she had continuous back pain till today morning. Is this normal? She has been pregnant for 6 weeks.
