How Is Anal Cancer Diognesed?
Question: Hi Doctor. Is anal cancer diognesed by digidal exam or will it not be known on digidal ie by hand.
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.
We can suspect anal cancer depending on clinical features and findings during digital palpation.
But to confirm cancer and know the exact histological type,a biopsy is a must.
Your doctor will discuss this with you.
Or,if you need more clarification, send me the full clinical picture, including your symptoms, and any investigation findings.
Take care,
Thank you.

Hi sir i have slight blood and heavy pain in my anus and i went to my Doctor and he made digital exam. He said its a crack. My dought is will it be a lesion wich is invisible in anal. Below skin .
Brief Answer:
Probably anal fissure.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the information given.
Slight bleeding, severe pain, and crack on examination-this is the typical presentation of an anal fissure. This is more common in your age group(young-middle age).
On the other hand, anal cancer is more common in elder age group(6th and 7th decades). This typically present as a mass with some bleeding, rather than a crack.
It is very easy to distinguish between anal fissure and anal cancer on digital palpation-anal fissure present as a tender crack, while anal cancer present as a hard, ulcerating mass which bleed on touch.
Only if he suspect anal cancer from clinical features and palpation, surgeon will advise biopsy. As your doctor did not advise biopsy,he is confident of the diagnosis.
So you need not worry. You can follow his advise without any worry.
Regarding anal fissure,it is initially managed with stool softening agents, smooth muscle relaxants, and diet modification.Only in resistant cases,we go for surgery.
Your doctor will guide you in this.
Meanwhile, include plenty of green leafy veges, fruits and fibers in your diet.Low residue diet and more non veg items will make stool hard and worsen fissure.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.
