How Is Gallbladder Cancer Detected Through An Abdominal Ultrasound?
Abnormal aorta 2cm diameter. There is a 2.8 x8 2.0 cm complex lobulated cystic partially exophytic lesion anterior head of the pancreas, adjacent and anterior to the common hepatic duct, indeterminate. Contrast abdomen CT correlation to exclude a cystic pancreatic mass. Echogenic indeterminate. Contrast abdomen CT correlation to exclude a cystic pancreatic mass. Echogenic fatty liver 12.6 cm sagittal dimensions. Hypoechoic heterogenous lesions in the liver, 2.1 x 2.1 cm left lobe, 4.9 4.3 cm right lobe, and large 6.7 x 6.5 exophytic at right lobe, adjacent to the portal vein. Contrast abdomen CT correlation to exclude hepatocellular carcinoma or metastases. Common hepatic duct 5.6 mm diameter. The portal vein is patent. Multiple gallstones, largest 10 x 9 mm, without cholecystitis. Murphy's sign is negative. Right kidney 11.5 cm, left kidney 9.1 cm, and spleen is 7.7 cm in size. Left renal cysts, largest 5.5 x 4.9 cm exophytic at lower pole.
Impression:
1. Hypoechoic heterogenous echotexture liver lesions and masses, largest almost 7 x 6.5 cm exophytic right lobe of the liver. Contrast abdomen CT correlation to exclude metastases.
2. Almost 3 cm lobulated exophytic pancreatic head cystic lesion anteriorly, indeterminate. Contrast abdomen CT correlation to exclude cystic mass.
3. Multiple gallstones, largest 1 cm, without cholecystitis.
4. Scattered few left renal cysts, largest almost 5.5 cm.
My doctor told me I had gallstones. Two weeks later, I was told I had gallbladder cancer by the hospital. Was there anything in this report that suggested something more than gallstones?
Exophytic growths as mentioned are indicative of more than gallstones
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit very specific about anything in the report more than gallstones.
Noted the history, the report and understood the concerns.
Exophytic growths from liver and pancreas which are of large size are suggestive of something more than gallstones. Such growths are not present if clear case of gallstones alone.
Needs contrast enhanced CT, evaluation of blood and other reports and may be a guided FNAC to get to an exact diagnosis.
Please get these done asap.
I hope this answers your specific query.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
Take care.
With Regards.

Wishing you the best possible management.
