How Is Gastritis Treated ?
Question: what is this type of gastritis? Does pepperming worsen the pain from it ? Also, popcorn?

Gastritis is inflammation of gastric mucosa due to excessive irritation caused by excessive gastric acid secretion. It is characterized by upper abdomen- epigastric pain specially empty stomach. Usually spicy and oily foods which trigger excessive acid secretion in the stomach precipitate the pain. Bland foods like pop corns or pepper mint is not likely to worsen the pain as such bland foods do not cause much acid secretion in the stomach. The medicine you are taking- Carafate specially covers the gastric mucosal lining thus preventing further damage and pain by increased gastric acid.
