Ive read on some websites and another doctor says it is theoretically possible to spread this way. You dont think i have anything to worry about? Even if he touched himself directly after? Just wanting to make sure. Thank you!
Brief Answer:
Very unlikely to be infected if asymptomatic.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I understand your concern.
A person only can become infected with genital herpes through direct physical contact with someone who has herpes. It is almost impossible to catch genital herpes from toilet seats, restroom towels, or other inanimate objects.
Sexual contact (including oral-genital and oral-anal sex) is the most common way to spread the herpes virus. Avoiding sexual contact is the only sure way of not spreading the infection while herpes sores are present. Genital herpes can also spread the infection to other parts of his or her body by direct contact (i.e., by touching the sores and then touching other parts of the body).
The risk of spreading genital herpes is greatest when genital sores are present, but an infected person may spread the virus even when there are no visible sores.
Men usually develop symptoms and lesions if they have been infected.
Also the IgM antibody will become positive in 2 to 4 weeks time.
So if these are not present he is not infected.
Take care

So you think i do not have to worry about it then? Like if he fingered me and i was having an outbreak without knowing it, and then he touched himself, what are the chances?
Brief Answer:
Hardly any chance
Detailed Answer:
If you were having an outbreak and there were wet lesions inside and he touched a mucus membrane before the wetness dried up, there is a chance. If he only touched the skin where there are no lesions and touched his unbroken skin there is no chance.
Even when there are no lesions obvious, it can spread by sexual contact where there is a mucus membrane to mucus membrane contact.
Don't worry, his getting infected by fingering alone is very little, but if you both had unprotected sex the chances are more.
