Posted on Wed, 26 Apr 2017
Question: I have type 2 herpes simplex.I am seeing a new girl but I am reluctant to have sex as I am paranoid of passing it on. If I am not having an outbreak and use a condom do you know the odds or chances of passing it on. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
There is substantial risk

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Health care magic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

HSV 2 spreads often when there are no symptoms of disease through sexual contact.
However if there is consistent use of condom and no contact with body fluids the risk is negligible.

I hope this assists you.
If you have more questions I will be glad to assist you further.
If you do not have more questions, please close the discussion and if possible rate the answer for my future patients.
