How Long Before Ovulation Is White Cervical Mucus Discharge Seen?
Question: Hello,
I have been tracking my menstrual cycle for the last couple of months as we are trying to conceive.
My predicted ovulation this month was on the 6/7/15.. on the 1/7/15 I witnessed (egg white cervical mucus). This was the only day I saw it.
On the 3/7/15, I got cramping feelings in my uterus and lower back.
My question is how long before ovulation do you see egg white cervical mucus?

At about 5 days before ovulation day, cervical mucus will become creamier and more stretchy. On the actual day of ovulation, the cervical mucus becomes 'egg white'.
You can correlate this with other signs of ovulation as well:
1. Change in basal body temperature- As you get closer to ovulation, you may have a slight decline, but it will be followed by a sharp increase after ovulation. The increase in temperature is the sign that ovulation has just occurred.
2. Change in cervical position and firmness- During ovulation, the cervix will be soft, high, open and wet.
