Brief Answer:
This is not due to dog bite

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your question and here is answers.
1. Nerve recovers slowly and some time pain can last for moths.
2. I do not think that dog bite is causing you twitching up to thigh.
These two can be different issues. You may have a nerve compression at spine which is causing this pain. To confirm this you need investigations like MRI or nerve conduction study.
3, You are right that you may have pain when you try to compensate and your gait is disturbed but you will not have twitching. Sciatica never occurs due to abnormal gait.
I hope this answer will help you, let me know if you want to ask nay other question.
Thanks.
