How Long Do Antibiotics Take To Treat Axilliary Lymph Node Enlargement?
Question: Hi my 5.5 month old baby developed an axilliary lymph node enlargement following bcg... It was noticed 2 months back. Pediatrician gave antibiotics for a week & it has come down.. but has not gone completely..He is 5.5 months old now.. I feel the lump has not decreased much in the last few days.. should I worry?
Brief Answer:
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Let me reassure you that such a lymph node is to be considered normal. Unless it starts rapidly increasing in size or unless the widespread lymph node enlargement starts developing, there is nothing to worry about. The existing enlarged lymph node may persist for a while and there is nothing to worry. Nothing needs to be done about it. You need not worry.
Let me know if I could help further.
