Brief Answer:
please provide more information

Hello,
you've mentioned 'bad side effects'. Please describe them in detail. The list of side effects is huge for any drug so I couldn't possibly guess which one occurred in your case.

Brief Answer:
probably related to the corticosteroid
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the additional information!
The symptoms you've mentioned can probably be attributed to the corticosteroid. I can't understand the need for a corticosteroid unless you've had a serious COPD exacerbation or other co-existing disorders. The corticosteroid may cause sleep problems and fluid retention (swollen ankles, tightness in chest, fast heartbeat, trouble breathing). I couldn't possibly say for sure whether your symptoms are due to the drug or due to your disease.
Some of your symptoms raise concerns for important complications though, so a visit to your doctor is recommended. Breathing problems and fast heartbeat in particular may occur in various disorders, one of them being fluid retention and acute heart failure (which may present with breathlessness, fast heart rate, swollen ankles, etc), which is an urgent situation.
So in conclusion, my advice for you is to visit either the ER or your doctor for a new assessment since the drugs may indeed be the cause of your symptoms and fluid retention (a common side effect of corticosteroids) is likely.
I hope it helps!
Best wishes for a fast recovery!
