Question: I recently Increased Indomethacin dose from 25mg TID to 50mg TID for Hemicrania Continuia. x 3 weeks. The medicine is very effective but I have a sore In mouth x 2 days now and mucosa has been extremely dry. Is this a common side effect ? Will it subside as I get use to this dose and how do I treat it as the sore hurts to drink and eat. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Indomethacin side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It seems you have developed oral ulcerations which may not be due to indomethacin as oral ulcerations or dry mouth are not common side effects.

However it will be worthwhile to do complete blood count as indomethacin can cause leucopenia and subsequent oral ulcers.
Leucopenia, particularly neutropenia can make a patient prone to different infections and oral ulcers.
