How Long Do Typhoid Symptoms Last?

my questions are:
1) How long does it have impact?
2) Past 2 weeks i'am having severe hair fall, like lose of 600-700 strands of hair after head bath, is it the effect of typhoid? if so what can be done(Especially the hair fall is more after applying oil).
Suggestive of Telogen Effluvium.
Detailed Answer:
Hi & Welcome.
Thanks for posting your query on healthcare magic.
After having gone through the history given in your query you seem to be having features suggestive of Telogen Effluvium.
Telogen is the resting phase of hair growth cycle.
Following any stressful event such as high grade fever like typhoid, malaria, dengue, viral hepatitis (jaundice) the scalp hairs get shifted from growth phase (known as Anagen) to resting phase (known as Telogen). Once the hairs enter telogen they are going to be subsequently shed over the next 1-3 months which is manifested as increased shedding.
Telogen effluvium usually starts 1-3 months after the stressful event and it may continue up to 3-6 months following which the hair follicles re-enter the growing phase. Therefore the hair fall that you notice after following typhoid fever is very much expected. So, there is nothing to worry.
I would suggest you to
1. Take a healthy & nutritious diet. Eat a lot of fruits, dry fruit, legumes and fresh raw vegetables to replenish the lost nutrients.
2. Oral Biotin supplement once daily and an oral Iron supplement once daily.
3. 2% Minoxidil drops to be applied on the scalp twice daily as it promotes the growth of new hairs.
Since these are prescription medications hence I advise you to consult a dermatologist in your vicinity for the needful.
4. Not to wash your hair with harsh shampoos or soaps and to dry them with a patting movement with a soft towel so that the hair is not pulled out by the roots.
Hope the suggestions given above would be useful.
Take care.

Is there any vaccination for typhoid? I have already had it like 5 years back.
Where can I get it, in case it is available?
Yes, there are vaccines available.
Detailed Answer:
Hi & Welcome back.
Thanks for your reply and the compliments.
1. Yes, for effective prevention of typhoid, vaccines are available.
2. If you have taken Oral (Ty21a) vaccine 5 years ago, a single booster dose of this vaccine is enough to prolong the duration of protection.
If you have taken Typhoid vaccine as injection then also you need to take a booster shot for further protection.
3. These vaccines are prescription medication hence you need to visit a doctor.
They are available as Typhoral (tablet) or Typhivax (injection).
Hope I could answer your query.
Wishing you best of your health.
