How Long Does Depo Shot Take To Flush Out Of System?
Question: Good day, how can i flush depo injection from my system, i need a baby?

I understand your needs to be a mother.
Depo injection will take up to 12 weeks to clear off your body after being injected. However, your menstrual cycle will get back to normal again only after 1 year of first injection.
Usually, patients are advised to take the things smoothie. You can try to conceive meantime after 3 months of last injection, hoping to get pregnant.
With regards to flushing depo injection from your system, there is no antidote for that. Depo injection is female hormone that is getting released gradually helping not to conceive. As its effect will end after 3 months of injection, the only thing that remains is to regulate your cycle.
I usually advise my patients to:
- increase water intake
- be more physically active
- take folic acid since the moment you decide to conceive
- eat healthy foods high in nutrients and antioxidants

But can i get pregnant before my menstruation becomes normal? And what if i take some drug that will bring back my menstruation, can i get pregnant?
And can you shade more light on the fact that it takes "after 1 year of first injection. I spent 8 month renewing my injection (for two-two months). And i was suppose to renew it on May 7 last year 2014 (meaning its now over a year since last i take a fresh injection) yet am yet to conceive and period is not yet back. Can i conceive if i take some drugs that will bring back my menstruation?

At this point, I advise to measure your hormones levels including female hormones, and thyroid function test.
Next, abdominal ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound are recommended to evaluate your uro-genital tract (if ovary cyst are present or not) together with urine analysis and vaginal swab testing.
Complete blood count together with biochemistry testing to rule out anemia and metabolic problems respectively.
I want to make sure that you are not having other health issues apart hormonal imbalance due to depo injection.
After having all these data, we can decide the best treatment strategy for you.
