Question : I am currently using Dexamethasone Ointment for a Stye infection...how many days can i use it for. MyDr has me using the ointment 2 times a day 1/2 strip

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Steroid ointments are not recommended for styes in the evidence based websites. So my recommendations would be to stop it and apply warm compresses (such as cloth soaked in "hand hot" water) to outer eyelid for 10-15 minutes, 2-4 times daily, to soften fatty components of lump. Massage lump with gentle fingertip pressure for 10 minutes after heat application to disperse components.

I don't really know how severe of a stye it is, but if you think that the doctor has decided it together with your agreement, I would say that you should be better for 5-7 days. Not longer because it gives cataract as a side effect.

If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing your local doctor.
