How Long Does Dilaudid Stay Urine?
Varies according to testing method.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic for your health related questions.
Regarding Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) you should know that there exist different forms out there, apart from there being oral, suppository or injectable forms which have some variability in their absorption and onset of action, there is also the availability of extended-release forms which action is naturally much longer.
I am not sure whether your question intends how long does its action last or until when can traces of it be detected in your system.
If it's the first case, you need to know the duration of efficacy, it is 3-4 hours for the normal preparations (whether oral or injectable), but it reaches 13 hours for the extended release formulations.
If you meant how long can traces of the drug be found in your system that depends on where it is searched, whether blood, urine, saliva, or hair, times differ. Also variations happen according to your individual metabolic rate and your weight.
Generally it can be detected in blood from about 6 hours for normal preparations to 24 hours for extended release. In the urine and saliva it can be detected for up to 3-4 days, in the hair for up to 90 days after its use.
I hope to have been of help.
Also, by the way, is there some kind of confidentiality issue here? Will this conversation be private? Thanks.
Also, the test is performed using the patient's urine.
No urine traces after that long a period.
Detailed Answer:
So it is going to be a urine test, taking place about 18 days after you last took the drug, which you took only for a couple of days.
In that case it is well beyond the 4 days period I mentioned earlier, even providing for metabolic factors prolonging its permanence in the urine for a day or two, after such a long time I think you have nothing to worry about, there shouldn't be any more traces of Dilaudin in your urine, only in your hair.
If you'll still be taking Norco it will pick up hydrocodone though, which is an opioid present in Norco, just in case you weren't aware about that, stays in your urine for up to 6 days.
As for the confidentiality issue, no worry, that is something which goes beyond saying. I don't have much info about you anyway, just the sex, age and medical history you provided.
Sorry for being so long winded here. I am pursuing prolotherapy for the problems with my spine....which I have had since 2010....with an Alternative Medicine Doctor. Look it up if you don't have any knowledge of it. It finds the source of the pain and lets the body heal itself. This way I will be able to get off opoids, muscle relaxers, ect. The method has an 80 percent success rate. Whereas all the sterodial injections, numerous nerve ablations and even a spinal cord stimulator have not even come close to any kind of relief. By the way, the spinal cord stimulator was removed this past February. It had quite working after 2 years.
I wanted you to know my history here and what I have endured to find a resolution to this ongoing chronic pain. Having been very athletic, this condition has limited me in so many ways. I guess I just want you to know that I am not a "pill seeker"......in my day, we called them "druggies". Thank you for your time today. I really appreciate the info.
You're welcome!
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for providing more info. While not having much experience with alternative medicine I know how difficult spinal problems can be and I completely understand your frustration and seeking of other alternatives.
I sincerely hope that things will work out for the best and you will feel better soon.
It has been around since the 50's. They are also in the experimental stage of adding stem cells to the procedure. I just think that if conventional and alternative could work together on the issues of a patient that we would see less disease.....hence less medical expense and alot more healthy people here in the United States. I could go on and on with this but won't bore you.
Again, thanks for your time. I was unaware of this website. For the fee that I paid, is there a time limit that is involved?
Thanks, XXXX
3 days.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the suggestion, I consider myself to be an open minded person, but in my country alternative medicine isn't that developed I must confess, do not have any qualified specialist, so on a practical level I haven't had the chance to create personal experience with it.
For every query you have the right to 3 free follow-up questions (you have used them in this query's case - you can make more than 3 naturally, but will have to pay an additional fee). In terms of time limit if you don't make any additional questions the query will be automatically closed after 3 days.
