How Long Does Flomax Remain In The System?

Question: I am looking for information about Flomax. First of all, does it have a known half-life. My husband has prostate issues and is up four or five times urinating. He also has some eye issues. I have been told not to use Flomax because of a dry eye condition I have. His eye condition seems to be under control. If Flomax does in fact stay in the body for a unknown length of time, would you still suggest he use this product. He is seventy-six years old. Thank you, XXXX

Thanks for query .Your husband has obstructive urinary symptoms due to Enlarged Prostate and has been advised to take Flomax (Tomsulosin) once daily.

Tomsulosin has selective action on alpha receptors located in bladder neck and prostate and relax smooth muscles to help improve urine flow .It does not have action on secretions of lacrimal fluid in the eyes hence does not cause dryness of the eyes,

It has action only for 24 hours.
