How Long Does Hydrocodone Remain In The System For A Drug Test?

Question: Hi! I am a 27 yo nurse of 10 years.
I came down with bronchitis in April and was given a rx for tussionex, then again a few dayz after mothers day, and was given a 2nd rx for tussionex. The infection is gone but I still have a lingering cough, so I take it PRN. This weekend I was outdoors a lot, & and my cough and allergies flared up again- so I have
Been Taking 5-10mL BID all through the weekend. And will probably need it later today, as well. The problem is, I may have a random drug screen Tuesday.
My questions are.. Will this show up as opiates on my drug screen & since my rx was written aroung 5/13, would it still be valid to show as proof that I am in fact okayed to take it?

Brief Answer:
You can show the prescription you have since 5/13as proof
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.
Tussionex contains hydrocodone and chlopheniramine. Hydrocodone is a semisinthethic opiod which can interfere tests results you'll have on Tuesday giving a false positive response.
It is used to treat coughing.
You can report its use before they
will draw blood for testing. You can show them the prescription you already have since 5/13.
Hope it helps.
