How Long Does Lyme's Disease Take To Show Up In A Blood Test Report?
Question: Can Lyme's disease blood tests come back as negative although patient continues to experience all of the symptoms of Lyme's for seven days with no improvement as one would expect with a viral infection? I had CBC, blood test specifically tests for Lyme's, flu swab and chest x-Ray all of which came back as normal or negative. More blood was taken yesterday, day seven and was placed on doxycycline while awaiting results from blood tests.
Brief Answer:
Test positive after 3 weeks, antibiotics necessary before that
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
yes the test is positive earlyest after 3 weeks after tick bite/ infection start. However you normally need to be taking antibiotics like doxycyclin or cefuroxim right away for 3 weeks if symptoms are typical. Symptome will improve soon mostly after 2-3 weeks, after 1 week you don't need to loose hope.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
