Question: Hi, if i smoked marijuana 53 days ago and had not smoked any for over 4 months prior to that, will i pass a urine test? I took an at home test but the line keeps showing up not very bold. i am 6'3 and 260lbs.
Brief Answer:
Wait for few more days until taking lab urine test
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The most important chemical component of Marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is detected in the urine test.
You are saying to have stopped smoking marijuana prior 4 months from the last use. If habitual use, THC can be shown in the urine test within 2 to 3 months of last use.
So, it was supposed after 4 months of last "habitual" use of marijuana, your urine test could be resulted negative.
But, you did smoke marijuana 53 days ago (around 1 and half month ago). THC will be detected within 1 to 7 days after single use. However, it will depend on :
- the quantity smoked
- your kidney and liver function
- your body ability to metabolize marijuana (which is genetically determined)
while height and weight won't have any effect.
As the at home test "keeps showing up", I advise to wait for few more days until taking the urine test. Make sure that you won't have false positive results. Please bare in mind that certain over-the-counter drugs together with foods and beverages can affect the test and give false-positive result.

let me clarify. I had not smoked any marijuana for 4 months prior to smoking one time 53 days ago. The at home test is telling me i am negative, but the line that appears doesnt seem to be very bold. as in, it appears to be a faint line, not as colored as the control line, but the test instructions says any line that appears means i am negative. how confident are you that any traces of the marijuana are out of my system after 1 time use 53 days ago?

Hi,
Thank you for your clarifications.
As mentioned earlier, the THC will result within 7 days after single use. It has already passed 53 days. Moreover, home test resulted negative. This gives me confidence that there won't be any trace of marijuana in your urine test. Unless the factors as mentioned earlier.
Hope it was of help!
