microgestin takes some time to show its effects.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
Microgestin 1/20 takes time to show its effects in the body.
If you have started the pill within five days after the start of your period, you’re protected right away.
But, If you have started the pill at any other time during your cycle, you need to use a backup form of birth control for seven days.
So it depends on what days of cycle you are.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.

My period has not came on yet it was due to come on sometimes after the 7th of August. I start taking the pill Sunday August 9 daily and I had unprotected sex on Wednesday, am im in danger of being pregnant? or do I need to do a Plan B action? within this 72 hours so that I can allow the pill to work in its fullest???
Brief Answer:
you need to take plan B.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
In my opinion, you are at risk of being pregnant as microgestin would have not started showing its effect by now.
I would suggest you to take plan B within 72 hours, if you wish to avoid pregnancy.
Hope this answers your query satisfactorily.
Thanks.
