How Long Does Minocin Take To Start Showing Effect?
Question: hello
I have a query regarding antibiotics.
My doctor gave me a prescription for 16 days of Minocin for what he believes is a bacterial infection UTI and spots with also blurry vision.
I have taken 4 antibiotics so far and have another 12 to go. I do not yet feel any improvement and I still have to urinate very often.
I am asking if I should already feel improved or it could take the full 16 days before I recover? Otherwise it could be a mis-diagnosis?

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Urinary infections are one of the most common problems and most often treated infections in outpatient.
Most of times it is seen that antibiotics is not effective against Urine infections causing bacteria -usually E.Coli due to antibiotics resistant.
Antibiotic resistance is a form of drug resistance where a microorganism survives even after contact with an antibiotics.
In such cases, I advise my patient to follow these steps-
1) Urine culture and Sensitivity test in Lab. as soon as possible. - Culture of First morning voiding mid stream urine .
First, pass small amount of urine into toilet and then pass urine into container to fill it to mark on container.
This test will confirm our diagnosis and help to select a best effective Antibiotics.
2) Drink frequent fluids at least 8 to 10 glasses of water.
3) Syrup Alkasol-15-30ml thrice daily after dissolving in water for 7 days.
4) As you already taking Tablet -Minocin so continue it as your doctor advised.
No need to stop or any changes in it.
5) Continue your Anti Bacterial and Anti Fungal cream as your doctor advised.
No need to worry , you will be fine soon.

I have just uploaded 3 new pics of spots on my arm/ shoulder. Do these look like normal bacterial spots or something more serious? Can these be linked to UTI?
