Question: Hi, I was wondering how long does Alcohol stays in your urine when being tested for a Drug Screening ?

Brief Answer: Can be detected up to 3-5 days via EGT. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thanks for writing to HCM Presence of alcohol in urine depend on two variables. 1. The ability of a tolerant individual to metabolize alcohol more quickly than a non-tolerant individual. 2. The possible presence of Candida Albicans in the urine specimen. Alcohol in urine can be detected up to 3-5 days via Ethyl Gluconoride (EGT) metabolite or 10-12 hours via traditional method. Alcohol test measures ethyl glucuronide(metabolite of alcohol),which can stay in urine for up to 3-5 hours,but it is best within 80 hours.It is more sensitive method to detect alcohol in urine.
