Hello

Welcome to healthcare magic forum.

I understand your concern regarding your hair problem.

Alopecia areata is a common disorder in which there is a patchy loss of hair.
Heredity, emotional stress, hormonal problem and auto immunity have been implicated as underline factors.

You have asked very good question. The course of disease is unpredictable. New patches may appear while hair is returning in older ones. The new hairs which grow back may be gray to start with but become black within 4-6 month.

In my clinical practice average duration of disease is 6-9 months. It may last for 2 years or more in some case. Following factors increase duration of disease,
- Early age of onset,
- Large number of patches,
- Extensive involvement,
- zigzag involvement.

I would like to know about following point in your case.
- Since how long you have it?
- Have you taken any medication?
- Have you any other medical condition?
- Which area is involved? (Scalp, face, or body)

Awaiting your reply
