Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

Your doctor is right. If your child has been vaccinated previously with vaccines fulfilling the guidelines ( i mean the standard vaccines and the complete course), then he just needs 2 dosages on day 0 and day 3.

In case previous vaccination is doubtful or a person is immunocompromised (like suffering from cancer , HIV/AIDS) we recommend the full course of vaccination.

This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
