Question: How long does a kidney infection take to clear up. I have been on Norfloxain 400mg for 3 days and pain killers but don't have an appetite and vomiting quite a few time a day. Is the vomiting which is a yellow bile getting rid of the medication I am taking. Thank you Do you think I need to go back to the doctor or outpatients.

Brief Answer: If there is no fever there is no cause for concern Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Clinical improvement in symptoms like absence of fever, improvement in urine frequency, decrease in burning urination, decrease in pain in abdomen are the clinical markers for clinical improvement in Urinary infection. I would like certain more additional information 1. Was the infection associated with Fever? 2. What complaints did you present with? 3. What all investigation were done( Urine routine /Ultrasound abdomen) Vomiting in Urinary tract infection is likely to e due to reflux pylorospasm inducing vomiting. If the Vomiting occurs after more than 1 hour of drug ingestion, its unlikely that Norflox is vomited out. Do get back to me with the details. Take Care Wishing you great health Best Regards Dr T Shobha MBBS,MD
