How Long Does Recovery From A Hip Replacement Surgery Take?

Question: my mom just got hip replacement surgery on her right side. anyways she got the surgery 7 days ago and seems like she's still very vulnerable and each move seems painfil but she is concidering going on a vacation shes planed for 2 months to lake tahoe today... its like 6 hour drive plus all the dangers of a Hotel / condo may have in store or being able to enjoy going around the lake the entire vacation is like seven days or more. I think it's a very bad idea what do you think?

I am so sorry to hear about this trip your mom seems so determined to undertake. It is too early after her surgery and is nota good idea. This is a heavy and delicate surgery and she should not take any risky attitudes to jeopardize her healing and recovery. I strongly suggest she doesn’t! How you convince her is difficult but talk to her and make her know the risk of going on vacation at this time far outweighs the potential benefits.
