How Long Does Recovery From Typhoid Fever Take?

Question: Sir, my son age 15 years after treating 14 days found veedal positive. Got admitted in hospital for five days without any other complecation after three days fever has gone or subsedice but after discharge after 10 days he got the fever 100.4 in night 8-9 pm after give him dolo with in 15 minutes he feels normal.he is having pane and swelling in wrist because of cannula doctor says it may be the reason. Presently subsribed medicine is zonex 200 mg two tablets and agithral500 ones daily

Hi. Welcome to Healthcare Magic. I am Dr Anshul Varshney for your help.
Your son is suffering from Typhoid fever and it usually takes a week to 10 days to get rid of fever completely.
Antibiotics are there fore recommended for at least 7 days in Typhoid fever.
Fever could result as a result of thrombophlebitis that is inflammation of the veins at the cannula site.
In such case i recommend my patients to continue antibiotics like Ofloxacin 200 mg twice a day for 7 days.
Since choice of antibiotic is different of your doctor, it's course would be different.
Zonex to be taken for a week and Azithral for 3 days.
I am very hopeful, that his fever would completely resolve with these medicines.

Thanks for your concern,sir he is not getting fever for two days but he is too weak how he over come with this can I send him school for his unit test for two hours in early morning for Monday only or he can attend his tution thrice a week

Hi Sir , after three days he got 100.3 fever in the evening may me he has gone to school for 2.5 hours in the morning his doctor says no need to worry it's because of too hot today or due to exertion
