How Long Does Recovery Take After TURP Procedure?
Question: Hi, I am curious how long I will have to wait until I can resume exercise and if some activity is better than others. I am 55 and I think in pretty good shape (exercise most days). I did a century bike ride less than 2 weeks ago and am scheduled to have a TURP in a week. As stated I road and mountain bike, play volleyball and tennis. I have not had time to hike but if need be I would hike and maybe swim. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Resume with an week of bleeding stops
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you wish to quickly resume to one form exercise after TURP, you just need to wait for one week after the XXXXXXX bleeding stops. After TURP surgery you will be bleeding for couple of days. Once the bleeding stops you can resume in a week to swim. I would prefer to delay biking for a month.
All the best for the procedure.
