How Long Does Travelers Diarrhea Take To Resolve?
Question: I was out of the USA visiting Mexico for 2 weeks at a nice resort. They used bottled water, ice brought in from a filtered source and brushed our teeth with bottled water. Somehow I still ended up with travelers diarrhea. I was given a prescription of cipro before I left and took it right away when symptoms started. It's been 3 days and I'm still going but haven't eaten anything. It's not a normal diarrhea either it seams foamy and floats. I was supposed to go back to work today but obviously couldn't. Ugh I need to get back to work. How long will this last and my skin is drying out should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
May take up to five days, self healing usually
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
this may take 5-7 days for yo to be normal again. As long as there is no heavy pain, fever or blood in stool you do not need to worry. Take in only light foods and enough fluid, ths is usually self healing.
Best regards
