Brief Answer:
It can be used for a long time.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Propranolol is used for a long time (months or even years if no adverse effects are seen) in order to prevent headaches.
Since you are taking a low dose of propranolol you can do light exercises.
Propranolol can only affect cholesterol levels only moderately.

Thank you Dr. Erion, Also I had blood test and my cholesterol level is 229. I am 25 years old weight 200 pounds and hight 6 feet. I am noticing my blood pressure is kinda high. Yesterday it was 135 and this morning it was 137. What would you recommend Dr. XXXXXXX ? I am already taking Propranolol for headaches.
Brief Answer:
Try modifications in your lifestyle.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Those values of cholesterol and blood pressure are not really high and, I think modifications in your lifestyle mainly your diet, should be tried first in order to avoid unnecessary drugs use.
It is necessary to avoid food with high amount of fat and salt, drinks with caffeine and alcohol also should be avoided.
Green vegetables, fruits, etc. are recommended.
Moderate exercise helps too.
Try these modifications for one month or two and let's see how it is going.
Hope this helps.
