How Long Should I Continue Looz Syrup For Hemorrhoids And Anal Fissure?
Question: My brother 25 yrs has been diagnosed with haemorrhoids and anal fissure. At first we went for surgery on 23 XXXXXXX 15 as prescribed by Dr VS XXXXXXX The condition remained same. The suggested medication after surgery was XXXXXXX OZ, Lysoflam, Chymoral Forte, Reetake DSR and Looz syrup. Since bleeding didnt stop, we headed to a Gastroenterologist Dr AK Banka at Patne. He suggested sigmodoscopy. Sigmoidoscopy says large congested hemorrhoids and posterior anal fissure. Dr prescribed Tablet Orni O, Dobesil capsules, Smuth Ointment and Looz syrup. But before starting these medicines patient had two bloodless stools and one with 15 to 20 drops blood. Totally confused now. Should I switch over to new medicines as prescribed in XXXXXXX Please suggest the right medication and cure..
Brief Answer:
switch over to the new meds
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I would advise to shift over to the medications you have been advised at XXXXXXX
You should continue looz for a long duration as this will help to keep your stools soft and prevent bleeding and help in healing of the fissure.
In case the bleeding persists then you might need a repeat surgery or colonoscopy banding for the hemorrhoids.
Hope this helps
Do get back in case you have further queries

Thanks for your timely advise sir. My brother has started medicines prescribed in XXXXXXX Since last 5 days he had 7 stools out of which 5 were bloodless and 2 had some 10-15 drops blood. It pains though after stools for some 3-4 hours. I have 2 questions:
1. Medicines as prescribed will last day after tomorrow. Should we continue medicines thereafter particularly antibiotics for recovery or if there is no need for medicines now?
2. What should be our next course of action for treating the ailment? Is the ailment treatable on medicines or a surgery may be needed? Which specialist should we go to?
Your advise is much sought more soever in deciding what to do next? Please help..

Brief Answer:
looz on a long term basis to prevent constipation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Glad to hear that he is recovering.
There is no need to continue the antibiotics after you complete the course.
I would suggest to take dobesil for 2 weeks
Looz should be continued for at least 2 months.
After 2 months Looz can been take whenever the stools are hard .
In case the symptoms recur then surgery can be considered and you should visit a general surgeon for the same.
Hope this helps
