How Long Should I Continue Nebistar For High BP?
Question: i m 46 yrs female.taking nebistar 2.5mg one tab daily and Rosutec 5mg.my BP is usually 115/75 to 80 when checked at home.my weight is 52kgs,height 5'2".i m not diabetic.my mother had BP and she passed away due to renal failure.i m a sportsperson.my question is for how long i have to keep taking medicine for BP or is it really necessary with these medicines.my LDL count is also normal now.actually i dont beta blockers.instead i want some good medicine from ARB OR CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKERS which is permitted for sports.please advise!

You are receiving a very small dose of Nebistar. I recommend that you stop this drug and re assess your hypertensive status after two days of stopping the drug, you might not require any tablet at all. If the blood pressure at rest is above 140/90 then I recommend that you are started on ACE/ARC like Tab Telmisartan, even more so because your mom died of renal failure
