How Long Should Symptoms Of Gastroenteritis Situation Continue ?

Question: Hello, again, Dr. Gurabardhi. Although during the day today my symptoms of gastroenteritis were improving and I was eating better, tonight I moved my bowels with cramps in the lower colon once again and had loose stools, though not as severe as yesterday. I just took imodium again as I did yesterday. We also have Smecta. How long should this situation continue? I assumed that it was ending today, but apparently it hasn't yet. Thank you.
